Article Library: Datacom - The Journal of BARTG BARTGs' journal dates back to the earliest days of BARTG itself, in 1959. In the earliest days in helped members obtain teleprinters and bring them into use. Datacom reflected the widening range of amateur radio datacoms modes, limited only by the experience of the members who wrote articles for it. Datacom covers:
And just about anything else that interests the amateur radio datacoms enthusiast. The journal has gone through several notable changes and you will find more about its history on the HISTORY OF DATACOM page. The biggest change hit Datacom in 2006 when an unprecedented shortage of copy meant that its publication became somewhat erratic. It was clear to the editor and the other committee members of BARTG that Datacom was no longer viable as a journal published on paper and posted to BARTG's members. After considerable discussion it was agreed by BARTG's committee and members that Datacom's survival depended on it moving from paper to the Internet. Datacom will therefore be found on the BARTG web site from now onwards. One thing will not change - the need for articles from BARTG's members and other amateur radio datacoms enthusiasts. BARTG has always been a "self-help" group where members help each other and articles in Datacom have been instrumental in providing this help. So - keep checking the Datacom page on the web site and please have a go at contributing an article or two. 73, Ian G4EAN. Datacom - Archives Home -> Articles
